The Dog Blog team would like to let you know we will be offering the following services over the Xmas period if you are in the Brisbane area -

Visits to your dog, including training practise, walking (lots of), games galore, feeding, watering, making sure your dog(s) are safe and secure.

We realise that many of you have missed out on booking your dogs into kennels, pet sitting services etc. so we would like to extend this service to you.

There is no minimum number of days to book in and it can be more than 1 visit a day.

Today is an exciting day at The Dog Blog offices as we've launched our first iPhone App called Smart Dog Training.

Getting your dog to come to you. Use a long rope or lead and attach it to your dog. Let your dog go and do its own thing, then when it doesnt expect it, call your dog to you and reel your dog in. Lots of praising your dog when they do come to you and sit in front of you. Allow your dog to move off again, and when they least expect it, call them to you and reel them in again if you need to. If and when they come to you and sit in front of you, lots of praise again! Make it really exciting that they come to you and listen to you.

You will be flooded with information covering EVERYTHING when owning a puppy and EVERY puppy graduates...we don't get any failures in our puppy schools! Your pup only needs to have had its FIRST vaccination to attend as they are all held in CLEAN, CONTROLLED environments.

Juvenile Group Classes - 4 weeks $150.00 per dog (Discounts for two enrolled together)

There are so many different breeds out there, its hard to know what to choose to suit your family situation, your commitment to exercising the dog, stimulating its mind, keeping from boredom setting in, the size of your location, yard, courtyard, apartment, acreage. What your budget allows food wise, training wise, equipment wise. Everything needs to be taken into account when looking at purchasing your new member of the family of the canine type!

Well this is a very common problem I am asked so much, we might get the toilet training right inside the house, apartment etc. however my clients want their dog to go in an area they choose in the garden as well.

I work with dogs day in, day out.  Everything I wear seems to end up with liver treats in the pockets, they go through my wash, my dryer, you name it, when I pull coins out of my pocket, drive my car, look through my handbag, there are always crumbs or actualy pieces of liver treats!

Liver treats I find to be the best for training our dogs, they are low in fat and low in salt and MOST dogs love them...only a couple of extra fussy ones won't, and thats when I'll use tiny dried fish pieces OR chicken but only if i have to.

This is Nero, the photos were taken by Zoo Studios here in Brisbane.  Nero has featured on television as Seans puppy on Totally Wild, a childrens program that runs on Channel 10.  This is also where I have done some training with him, to show kids how to easily train their dog to sit, drop, stay and walk on the lead nicely.  The show is pitched at 8 year olds and above and they cover all different types of animals and acitivites, its a lot of fun and a great time to be included in some segments.  The people i worked with there were all so easy going and professional, it

What a great day, lots happened, everyone was very professional and knew exactly what to do.  I had such a great team and we will get together again to film for the next application for ipones, ipads and itouches!
